Run with heart. Learn to notice who is beside you.

For readers who feel the excitement of a starting line, a lap of the track or a relay. A story of speed and effort in which waiting, listening and apologising help you move forward too.

You might already love athletics, or be discovering it for the first time. This illustrated origin story invites you behind the sporting moment: into the doubts, friendships and choices that help shape Jaguar before Sportia.

There is room for what you feel.

Sport can bring excitement, pride and a wish to improve. It can also bring nerves, disappointment and the feeling that everyone else has it worked out. Jaguar’s story makes room for those less visible moments, exploring patience, repairing mistakes and cooperation.

An invitation to recognise yourself in a character, talk about a difficult moment and wonder what another choice might look like. The story does not promise a perfect athlete: it gives you someone to accompany as they learn.

Discover the person behind Jaguar.

A baton falls. Jaguar is the fastest, but his legs cannot fix everything. The race he expected to win asks him a question he never saw coming.

Follow the journey across 22 illustrated scenes, from early challenges to Jaguar’s place at Sportia. Everyday details sit alongside sporting ambition: a conversation, a shared practice or a question can matter as much as the moment everyone applauds.

A sporting world with people at its heart.

What kind of teacher does that journey create? The later scenes bring Jaguar to Sportia, where new children arrive with their own excitement, doubts and ways of learning. Discover how this teacher’s experience shapes the way they welcome others into athletics.

For young readers—and the adults beside them.

Written for children aged 7–11, with the emotional experiences of this age in mind. Read independently or together, then use the story to open a conversation about patience, repairing mistakes and cooperation. Ask which moment felt familiar, whose choice surprised you and what you might want to try or ask about next.

The reader also includes a small challenge and words from the sporting world. This is an illustrated story to enjoy and discuss, rather than a technical training programme.
